It boils quickly and looks good in our kitchen. I used to have a lovely whistling stove-top kettle but decided to get an electric one because the stove-top took almost FIVE MINUTES to boil enough water for two cups of tea… I bought this kettle (in a different colour, but the model is the same) about four months ago and have experienced no odd taste to the water as reported by some. Granted, it isn’t the quietest kettle in the world but since it’s only on for a minute I don’t consider the noise to be a problem.

I’ve had this kettle for a couple of years. Initially I was very impressed and very happy with the product. However, after about 12 months there was limescale build up externally on the spout (from the steam is all that I can think of)and the black coating began to peel off around the top where the lid joins. I don’t think I’ve ever used the lid so I can’t understand why it is showing so much wear. The kettle now looks constantly grubby despite it not having that much use (we only use it a couple of times a day).
