I don’t usually write reviews on products, but felt compelled to do so on this occasion. I am sure there is nothing wrong with the functionality of this product, however I didn’t get the chance to use mine. Upon receiving the product I was surprised to read in the instructions that the minimum capacity was 3 cups, with 1 cup being recommended per person so I decided to perform a little test and weighed out how much rice the provided cup contained this equated to over 4 ounces of rice (which is quite a lot of rice for one person), therefore using the recommended quantity of rice this would equate to 12 ounces. This quantity is twice as much used to cook for two of us.

The point of this review is to warn anyone either living on their own or as in my household there are only two of us not to buy this product unless you really like rice. It would have really helped me make my decision if the description of the product had included the minimum capacity as well as the maximum as I would not have purchased the product if I had known this information, especially as I now wish to return the product and will have to pay for the privledge. I don’t blame Amazon as the Kenwood website doesn’t include this information in their description either, but would recommend that Amazon add the minimum quantity to help future customers.

This replaced my Tefal which was very good and lasted since the mid 80′s but then started getting a little temperamental (switching off early). When I received the Kenwood, I realised that it was identical to the one just re-cycled, except that it had been tarted up a little. Excellent, I look forward to another couple of decades of reliable service. Pity they didn’t include the rack for boiling eggs, which was also very useful, luckily, I salvaged the Tefal one from my recycling bin so all is perfect.
